Hi--I came to this post via Omnivore Digest.

I was fortunate enough to attend a lecture by Marjane Satrapi last year. She spoke at length about her life and was one of the most captivating speakers I've ever heard. Like an Old Testament prophet with a killer sense of humor.

She also corrected the literary types who introduced her as a writer of "graphic novels."

"I write COMICS. A graphic novel would be something like 'Lady Chatterly's Lover.' "

hey, thanks for commenting. that would be amazing to hear her lecture. her story and works are so inspiring.
"like an OT prophet..." like that.
cheers.

Just watched the trailer. Very moving.

Have you ever thought about writing a graphic novel? [Or, as Marjane Satrapi calls them, a comic?] Individual pieces that you produce already tell poignant stories, and there's a narrative that already underlies much of what you produce. Think about it.
